I read that Gigi Buffon is the National Team Delegation Head for Italy.
It is a role that he took up almost straight after his retirement, replacing the late Gianluca Vialli in the position.
It is such an important role , in my opinion Gigi is one of the greatest Goalkeepers ever. And like Vialli he is someone the players will respect and it will help galvanise the team.
This picture was at press conference and Azzurri training few years ago when the Azzurri were in Manchester, preparing to play Argentina and England. I spoke to Buffon briefly and found him to be a humble, jovial , focused and intelligent person.
